Dean's Quarter

I believe one of the main goals in life is to never get stuck in "The Waiting Place". If you succeed, you'll win 1000 mega points!

Detour

We finally made it to NY only about 6 hours ago. There was a crazy ice-storm in Montreal and Jeremy and I spent most of yesterday sitting in the Calgary airport. We arrived in Montreal at around 11:30 (obviously missing our connecting flight to NY). However; I was able to see Emilie and Melissa, my two friends whom I met in Malaysia and travelled through parts of India with. What a lovely treat it was! We slept at Emilie's house and in the morning went to Melissa's for some breakfast (Montreal Bagels of course!) and then got to the airport to find out our flight had been delayed, yet again for a couple of hours. Air Canada bites ass (it wasn't there fault for the weather, but regardless). As we waited in this huge gigantic line-up that was poorly organized, they announced over the speakers, "thanks for your patience and inconvenience". Riiight. Whatever happened to the gross free airplane food?

So, I've had one evening here so far. And in response to Al's latest mystery photo... I was just there! Times Square. It's bloody cold here! Crazy windy, but all 68cm of snow has already melted, you'd never be able to tell that they had a record snowfall less than a week ago. On the bus ride to our hotel, we passed through Harlem and I saw the famous Appollo Theatre. How cool is that? I saw that Roberta Flack's going to be performing there. I've gotta see when she's there, I'd love to go. I wasn't expecting to have internet here, but luckily there's a wireless network that my laptop can hook up to.
