Luther Vandross 1951 - 2005

Farewell to a talented and well loved singer. His voice was smooth and slick, his songs could bring you to tears, his expression brought lovers closer together, overall he'd just make you get those chills and quiver all over. Every now and again while Luther's on the beat box you just have to slap your knee and shout out "ummph!", cause its so sensational and almost tangible. Hitting your knee and shouting out is like bringing you back down to reality.
Don't you wish that music could embrace you like a blanket and smother you?
God bless you Luther. Heaven's in a for a phenomenal concert!

You know what's sad is that I know who he is but I can't for the life of me think of one song by him that I know. Was he the guy from the Coolio song "Gangster's Paradise"? You can slap me when you see me if that was a dumb question. I'm sorry Dean, but I amo going to have to be one of those people who only discovers a talent after they've died.
Hehe... ok, remind me slap you next time we meet.
To be honest, he doesn't have a totally popular signature song. He wasn't a writer so he sang a lot of cover songs. He's the type of singer that you'd just listen to his whole CD because the whole thing all has the same vibe.
Notable songs would be:
Here and Now (a total wedding song)
Power of love
Endless Love (duet with Mariah)
Dance with my father (his last hit that was release around Father's day 2003)
I'd rather
Best things in life are free (duet with Janet Jackson)
